Ho Chi Minh City 🏙️

Ho Chi Minh was the biggest city we’ve been to!

The night we arrived we decided to go see a show at the Saigon Opera House. We saw A O Show, which describes itself as a Bamboo Cirque. It was a very fun show contrasting Vietnam’s peaceful country life versus the noise of urbanization in a cirque-de-soleil fashion.

The next day we did our own walking tour around the main districts. We stopped at the two biggest Catholic Churches in the city, the main post office, and the War Remnants Museum. The city has a lot of different architectural influences and history.

In the evening we had another food tour. As the food in the north and the south is very different, we wanted to do a food tour in each part! This one was unique as we rode on the back of mopeds all around the city stopping at several places. Our guides and motorbike drivers, Nem and Dan, were very fun to spend the evening with. Both are in their last year of university studying English and IT. We enjoyed our conversations with them learning about each other’s lives. As always, the food did not disappoint! They drove us around to various restaurants, the flower market, night street food market, banh mi stands, and a little corner spot for dessert. We could not eat a single bite more by the end of the night!

I can’t believe we are nearing the end of our trip, only one more town to go!

  1. I am starting to have a love/hate relationship with this blog. Love to see all you guys are experiencing and how much fun you are having, hate that I am not there with you 🙂 Love Isabel’s reaction when she realizes Samuel is videoing her on the back of the motorcycle !!! These tours with locals is such a great thing to do. Enjoy your last few days.
